The secret to shopping at Walgreens is in the Register Rewards. If you are not familier with them, they are coupons that print from the register when a certain product is purchased. Register rewards change weekly so be sure and check the ad.
When you buy a product that has an advertised RR, you buy that product at full price and then a coupon (the register reward) prints for $XX amount off your next in store purchase. Example: If Goody hair scrunchies are on sale for $2.99 with a $2.00 RR then you would pay $2.99 out of pocket and the RR will print for $2.00 off your next in store purchase. You can turn around and use that RR to pay for or towards a second transaction. When you “roll” your register rewards you would buy another advertised register reward product and pay for it with the first.
Keep in mind you can only use one manufacture coupon per item purchased. Walgreens allows you to stack store coupons with manufacture coupons. Register rewards scan as a manufacture coupon.
One more thing to pay attention to is what company the RR came from. In our first transaction we received Goody hair scrunchies for $2.99 and got back at $2 RR from Goody. I could not turn around purchase another product from Goody and get a RR.
I hope this helps! Here is a pic of some RR’s. Notice the expiration date (good for two weeks), and the company’s they are from.
